DR. May 30

Today was awesome we went to the Jumbo it is like a Wal-Mart here. We bought food for the village we visted today. We spent 30,000 pasos which is about $1,000.00 US money. We were able to feed 76 homes in the village.

We arrived at the village and as soon as the kids saw the bus they were yelling with joy. We did the VBS songs and the children loved them and started to sing with us.Logan shared his testimony with the children he did a awesome job. I shared the gospel with the children using the bracelets. Seven children recieved Christ. Give God the glory..

After the gospel presentation we handed out flip flops and it was awesome to see the children recieving the shoes. After that we did the craft time. The children made necklaces with fruit loops on them.

This was the best part of the day, and that was when we handed out the food to the homes. Each home recieved a bag of rice, beans, butter, oil, can of cicken and some cookies.

After Lunch we helped jump start a program that SCORE does through the summer. The SCORE team goes around the commmunity that surrounds the complex. We went door to door inviting the children and about 45 kids came to the back yard vbs. When the vbs started Bri shared the gospel and she did a awesome job. We were able to give them nascar shirts and goody packs.

Also a special needs kid came to the program for the first time this was huge because his parents have never let him attend a program.

We ate at el sueno 's tonight and boy was it good. We had a awesome time.

The team misses you guys and can not wait to get home but at the same time will miss the people of the DR.

Please pray for our smooth transistion through the airpots and our flight.

we love you,

DR Trip (Catalina Island ) May 29

Well today started off with a 45 minute drive to the boat launch. We boarded a two deck boat. Joyce and Dana got a little sea sick but they made it. The boat stopped and our crazy bus driver kiko talked everyone into jumping off the top of the boat. It was awesome. We then started to snorkle. WOW!! The fish were amazing, schools of them swam all around us. We got to see all the beautiful coral reef. Jake and Heather even got to take some pics under the water can't wait to develop those. We then boarded the boat and went to beautiful catalina island.

The beach was breath taking. The water was so dense that your body just floated effortlessly. For lunch we ate a huge buffet with island fruit and who knows what but it was delicious.

After lunch we did some shopping and more swimming. We just took it all in and relaxed. God is so awesome because this was such a beautiful beach that was made by His hands.

Another interesting fact was we were only a 100 miles from the coast of Puerto Rico and you could see the borders from the boat.

We love you all. Thank you for your prayers that are helping us.

May 29 DR TRIP

The second photo is the market and it was the first thing we did today. I thank Jake spent all of his money. Just picking. We bought some good gifts for the parents there is a beautiful stone that is only found here in the Dominican and I saw some pick those up. Oh!!!

The next thing that we were able to do was go to the handicap orphange. This was by far the hardest thing many of us have expereinced. In this orphanage kids suffered from muscular distrophy, grease burns, hydrocephilus down syndrome, autism, terits, ignore the spelling. The hardest was to see the two girls who suffered from hydrocephillsus because of the disease being untreated the heads have swollen to the size of about two basketballs. This was so hard on me and I know on most of the others I had a oppurtunity to hold the hand of one of those girls and to see her face light up with a smile was awesome.

The last thing we were able to do was to go and to the vbs in a village it took us a hour to get to. This village was in the middle of sugar cane fields and because of it not saleing the goverment shut them down leaving these people without any source of income so these people went from making seven dollars a day to nothing. We were able to have church service in a church that had just a tin roof and no sides. We sang Because he lives, I love the Lord in spanish. Josh Barber and Heather shared their testimony's and did a incredible job.Mallory read the bible lesson to the kids in spanish and she did a incredible job as well. She sounded just like a true dominican. We also preformed the vbs songs and crafts with the children. We shared the gospel and five children gave their lives to Christ today we give God praise.

Tommorrow we will go to the beautiful beach at catilina island and go snorkling and have a type of luau type of meal on the island. It is our free day.Again I am just amazed at our team they are doing a awesome job. Please pray for the safety of our group. It is good to see your comments and we wish you were all here with us.

May 28 DR Trip

Today was a awesome day. Our devotion this morning was on Acts 1 and it talked about how God would empower us. God did just that. The first part of our day we were able to go to a orphange and right when we walked in the kids came right to us. We played games and lead worship with the kids. Brianna read the Bible story in spanish to the kids she did a great job. I was able to share my testimony and explain to the children how Jesus saved us from our sin and if we trust him and put our faith in Him we will have eternal life. Four kids prayed to recieve Christ. Awesome. The orphange really blessed all of us.

After lunch we went to a local village and in this village score had only made contact with them twice. We played games, painted faces, and had worship time. The kids at the village loved the music and sang and did all the motions with us it was so encouraging. We shared the gospel with the kids I am still waiting on our report to see if there are any descions. Our team is just amazing me. They are doing such a great job and it is obvious that they're hearts are in it.

Tomorrow we are going to another village and also a handicapped orphange please pray that God will continue to use us in a mighty way.

Thank you for all the prayers it is helping us so much.
